Real-Life Case Studies

A complete chipped off part of a printing cylinder.

This printing cylinder was a challenge for us and this gap needs a replacement that bonds well with the cylinder's base material.

Copper pieces as replacement

We used 2 copper pieces to patch up most of the gap and utilized Brush Plating to bond the copper onto the cylinder.

Continuous application of Brush Plating

We Brush Plated and blended many times to ensure that every gap is filled up and the bond is seamless as one.

Final blending

After the final blending to the required specifications. We did a final dimension, thickness and adhesion check before nickel capping.

After nickel capping

Nickel capping is added to create a silver metallic shine to match the cylinder. Seamless and flawless repair. It looks as good as brand new!

Worn-Out Printing Cylinder

The damages on the printing cylinder was tackled in 2 parts. First is the chipped off section and the other is the scoreline.

Opening up of Damaged Areas

We grind open (widen but not deepen) the damaged areas in order to prepare for Brush Plating.

Sealing the gap

We secured the copper piece into the gap by screwing it down and grinding it flat.

Brush copper plating in progress

Multiple rounds of Brush Plating and blending was done to restore it back to its original dimension.

Dimension check

We did a final dimension check to ensure it is according to customer specifications.

Brush copper plating to score line damage

The second part was the score line damage and we had to Brush Plate multiple times to achieve seamless restoration.

Nickel Capping

Nickel capping was done to match the beautiful metallic colour of the component.

Ready to function again

With our Brush Plating Technology, the printing cylinder is ready to perform as good as a brand new cylinder.
